It’s the most wonderful time of the year! August 8-21 is Dine Out Boston (formerly known as Restaurant Week Boston) and after spending plenty of time at home over the past few months, we’re ready to take the Boston restaurant scene by storm and sample from special prix fixe menus.

Award-winning restaurants throughout Boston, Cambridge, and surrounding suburbs are offering special menus and prices that you won’t want to miss out on. The only hard part is deciding where to eat during these two short weeks.

Need some help narrowing down your options? Here are four amazing restaurants to try during Dine Out Boston:

1. Summer Shack

It’s hard to beat fresh seafood in Boston, and Summer Shack is a local favorite. For good reason. Summer Shack’s special three-course dinner menu has everything you’re looking for for a quintessential Boston summer night.

Start with a refreshing raw bar with oysters, cocktail shrimp, and clam ceviche. Next, the surf and turf with steak tips and grilled gulf shrimp. Top it all off with a seasonal dessert for a perfect night out.

2. Zuma

One more seafood option! This time, we’re mixing it up with a contemporary Japanese lunch menu at Zuma. Sitting in the Four Season’s Hotel, Zuma is the ultimate power lunch destination. You’ll start your meal with a light option like salmon tartare or vegetable tempura. Then, choose from tasty entrees like the spicy beef tenderloin or miso-marinated black cod. Finish your meal with an incredibly delicious yuzu cheesecake with raspberry granita, black sesame, and yamamomo.

3. Bistro du Midi

Next step, Back Bay, for an elegant French meal in a warm and welcoming setting. Bistro du Midi has a special Dine Out lunch and dinner menu, but we recommend splurging for a dinner and accompanying wine pairing.

Your meal begins with steamed mussels with sweet corn, heirloom tomatoes, pistou, and grilled country toast. For a main, we’ve got our eye on the flat iron steak with pommes purée and rainbow chard. Dessert is a coffee vanilla bean cream puff or raspberry cheesecake. Perfection.

4. Davio's

Let’s round out our fab four with a crowd-pleaser. Davio’s is a staple for Northern Italian cuisine in the Boston area. Again, you’ll have your choice of a fantastic lunch or dinner menu. The choices are tough here… our best recommendation is to go for a date night and sample each other’s choices to try as much of the menu as possible.

Antipasti options include filet mignon carpaccio or burrata with fresh figs and sweet onions. For your main, spaghetti with swordfish, peppers, capers, panko crumbs, and lemon butter or perfectly cooked free-range chicken with Yukon potatoes, and green beans. Save room for the triple chocolate cake or a lemon meringue tart.

Ready to hit your Dine Out destination?

Hopefully, our list helped your narrow it down! Reservations are strongly encouraged during Dine Out Boston so make sure to get your reservations in for a memorable meal and well-deserved night out.
