Le Sud brings the traditional cuisine of southern France to the energy of one of Chicago’s hippest neighborhoods. From house-made charcuterie boards, wood-fired chicken, pan-roasted bavette steak, and an exceptional wine program, Le Sud introduces locally-sourced product and seasonal flavors from the south of France.

Influenced by a trip to France and the fresh, flavorful meals she discovered there, Owner Sandy Chen was inspired to open Le Sud. The small, country side towns of Provençe reminded Sandy of her hometown on the extreme southeast coast of the Province Zhe Jiang--a waterfront town surrounded by mountains on three sides. Her culinary inspiration stems from her father and grandfather, both personal chefs, who moved the family to the U.S. in 1984. Her father taught her how to artfully combine Eastern and Western ingredients and inspired her culinary talent.

With Le Sud, Ms. Chen brings her love for bold, fresh ingredients and her expertise with running successful restaurants. Critics have applauded; Better Magazine named Le Sud in its “Best of Chicago 2019” list.  Le Sud’s two bars serve perfectly matched wines, creative cocktails and martinis, as well as thoughtful beer selections.

And mais oui, you can hold your next private event at Le Sud. Two separate dining rooms create the perfect atmosphere for your night out. Overlooking Roscoe Street, the Salle Du Soleil offers intimate private and semi-private dining for 10 to 35 guests for cocktail receptions, social celebrations, and corporate dinners. Prix-fixe menus are available for groups of up to 17 guests and a family-style is available for groups of 17 or more.
