Austin’s Sway is an award-winning modern Thai restaurant serving brunch, lunch, happy hour and dinner. They even have a "spirit house"--a shrine to the protective spirit of the spot.
They take their design seriously. For example, Sway's menu design ties into the brand's overarching theme of minimalism, with a few thoughtful twists.
We’re unclear whether the same seriousness applies to naming some of the culinary offerings; for example, one of Sway's most popular menu items--the “Son-in-Law.” (That’s braised pork shoulder, crispy farm egg, thick soy, and nahm prik pla, in case you were wondering.)
The critics have raved. Named one of Bon Appetit’s “50 Best New Restaurants in America” in 2013, Sway was also most recently voted “2019 Best Brunch in Austin,” and “Best Happy Hour in Austin” by readers of Austin Monthly, as well as “2019 Best Thai Food” by the Austin-American Statesman.
As for private events, Sway offers a variety of group dining reservations, all paired with one of their set chef’s menus. They offer a private event space at the West Lake Hills location--perched above Bee Cave Road, Sway West Lake Hills offers a variety of options for celebrations of all styles.
The beautifully-designed, two-story restaurant features of the other locations offer communal dining, a courtyard garden, and a private rooftop deck. The menus are complete with Sway’s signature modern Thai dishes as well as a full bar and wine program, including specialty sake options and Thai cocktails.
